Halloween activities

Yes, I know it is not Halloween yet, but I will post some of the things we have been doing lately dealing with this fine fall time. First two weekends ago we went to a pumpkin farm, a family friend grows pumpkins and will take people out to pick some, so we went with my sister and Milli and one of my cousins and his wife and two daughters, other people in the family couldn't make it, but it was fun! :)  Then this past weekend we had my niece Milli's birthday party (which her birthday is Halloween) but the kids did trick-or-treating in town by my sister as a part of the birthday party. Enjoy the pictures!

Daddy and Evelyn finding the best pumpkins... I found mine right next to the wagon and stayed there! :)

Amy and Milli found some... of course Milli is covering her face from the shot, stinker pants!

Daddy carrying two pumpkins and cousin Lauren helped Evelyn with a little one.

Evelyn saying trick-or-treat at the door (I was handing out the candy at my sister's house)... so cute! :)

Evelyn was Tinker Bell... her dress was falling off at the end, but the wings sure were cute from Gaga Chris!

Evelyn is concentrating really hard and singing happy birthday to Milli here! :)

Tired from the trick-or-treating and party, but she will not let go of her candy! :)

2 weeks to go!!!! :)

Well we are counting down... we could do days now! 14 days till we meet BBS! :) Yay! In 2 weeks we will meet him for sure, I don't think he will come early, however I did just start to be very uncomfortable! It was almost like a light switch... I don't know what happened... maybe he dropped a little, but now I have such bad muscle pain under my tummy, I feel like such a whiner! I was overdue with Evelyn, but I don't remember hurting like this... I am really 37 weeks (I will have the c-section in my 39th week) so technically he should almost 'cook' another 3 weeks! Yikes that would be terrible for me! :)  Mike said he just wants me to make it till November... thankfully I am pretty set with things, just a few odds and ends here and there, but I should be able to take it easy. It really would be easier with the stuff we have going on the next couple of weeks for BBS to stay in there for these last 2 weeks... so we will see. I will tough it out... I feel bad for Mike he has to hear me complain all the time! :)  SO I am a terrible 2nd time mom, cause I have not taken any belly shots of this guy! I feel bad, but at least we got a cute one of Evelyn hugging my tummy, which she does do quite a bit, we just haven't gotten a picture of it yet! :)  Here they are:

Isn't Evelyn super cute! She is excited too! Indy is even excited I think! :)
Here I am just a little over 37 weeks pregnant this time! I feel like I look huge! I think this baby is going to be much bigger than Evelyn was (5 days overdue and weighed 7.7lbs)

Here I am pregnant with Evelyn at 39 weeks... so almost full term! Comparing to above I think right now at 37 weeks I am just as big as this at 39... maybe a little smaller still! Crazy! We will see what happens! :)

5 years ago today....

It isn't too often that you can think back on something you did a while back, and even though every day since that day has not been easy or smooth, you still know that day you made one of the best decisions of your life. That is what an anniversary should be, and it is for me (and I will go on a limb and say for Mike too!). Today is Michael and my 5th wedding anniversary! 5 whole years have already gone by of married bliss! hehehe! We all know it is not always easy and it is not always fun, but like my mother-in-law's card said, it is the journey together that is makes a marriage worth the while! Michael and I have always been good at talking to each other about our goals and aspirations and we have journeyed on this path together, in every sense of the phrase! I could not imagine being where I am without him, and I know he feels the same! I have confidence that there are still many more years ahead of us, and I for one am excited to see what these up coming years bring! To my husband and best friend: I love you more each day, thank you for being my rock and partner in all things! I love you! :)

Now for a blast from the past: 5 years ago today was a great day, and the pictures are sure fun to look through! If you are facebook friends with me, there are 8 albums or something from that day, you should flip through, so many great memories and good times! :) We truly are a blessed couple! :)

It was a nice day! I love this picture, one of my favorites!

Walking into our future... we didn't know then we would have our Evelyn and this little one on the way... we are blessed!

Our wedding party at the park, we love these people! :)

Dancing! It really was a great party!

Someone is 29 today! :)

Don't forget to wish my favorite guy (don't tell BBS, well he isn't here yet!) a very happy birthday today! :)

My hubster and bestest friend in the world is now older than me again! And only 1 year short of 30 now, yikes! He doesn't like to be reminded of this! :) If you want to make him real happy, point out the 5 grey hairs that he is now sporting in his sideburns and beard! :) I love you Michael! So glad you were born today, 29 years ago (thanks Chris!)! :)

He loves it when I take pictures of him driving! :)

One of his examples of being a super dad!

Preparations and Changes...

Well we are really getting down to the home stretch with this pregnancy! I am 36 weeks, but since I will have a repeat c-section on 11-5-13 then there is really only 3 weeks until we get to meet BBS! :) Preparations have been going well, I have washed all our baby things, made up the crib, pulled out all neutral clothes, folded (well Chris did that for me) them, I have yet to put the clothes away in the drawers and then I have to make up the bassinet, that is pretty much it! Oh and pack the diaper bag and decide what outfit BBS will come home in! WOW! we actually did pretty good! There is not much we need to do! We would like to rearrange the living room, which we will do maybe this weekend or next, but that is not a crucial piece to the arrival of this little man! :)

The changes part of my title is in reference to some of the changes that we are noticing in Evelyn. We have been trying to have a very positive vibe and openly talking about Evelyn having a baby brother. She overall seems super excited and positive about it. For example, she likes to look at baby brother's clothes, and decide what things are baby brothers. Recently as I was getting some diapers out and ready, I was oogling over how tiny the size 1 diapers are (hard to imagine having such a little one again) and Evelyn so perfectly and cutely mimicked me and was all 'oooh, the diapers are so cute!!" then I explained how they are going to go on baby brother and she said 'yeah he is going to poop in them and I will wipe his butt!'  How cute is that?!? She talks about wiping his little butt! :) But at the same time, I think it is still a little overwhelming for a person who is only 2 to fully understand what is going on. We moved her into a big girl room a few months back, and by design did it plenty early so that she did not feel like she was being kicked out of the baby room. She now knows her old room is a baby room, and she does not want to be called a baby or referred to as a baby, however she literally said to me: "I am a big girl and a good girl, but I want to be a little little too!"  That kind of hit me hard, I think we have been talking about her being a big girl so much I should step back and remember and embrace that she is only 2... she is not really a 'big' girl! TEAR! and I don't want her to be too much of a big girl, she is still my little girl, our first born, light of our world! :)

The past few weeks we have noticed how she does not like to do anything alone, AT ALL, like going to the bathroom alone, going to sleep without us by her, and staying in her own bed the whole night, and even started some issues at gymnastics. A lot of this started after she was sick for like a week, so I thought she was just thrown off because of that, but it seems to be a little bit more than that. I am now thinking, cause the baby talk is revving up so much Evelyn might be starting to get some of that jealousy or concern for not  being the center of attention (even though she still is). It must be a thing she can sense, and she is clearly concerned about our attention and us being with her. So we have been attempting to reassure her on a regular basis and with all things possible, and just always talk about how we are never going to leave her and we are always here for her. We are taking baby steps, and finding out parenting of a younger child is almost as much learning on the parent's part as it is on the kid's part!

I might be an over-user or the phrase 'I love you' although, I don't really think you can over-use it, but if you could, I would go above and beyond normal usage. This morning, I looked back at Evelyn in her car seat, and she was talking about something, and I said 'I love you, Evelyn' and she said very matter-of-fact almost as if annoyed 'I know mama!' in which I had to giggle, and I said well I just don't ever want you to doubt it! And I proceeded to tell her again, that is what I do. I know she knows it, and I hear her say it back to me the way I say to her: 'I love you ssooo much' so I know she hears it and it sinks in.... So overall I know we will be okay with this adjustment to having to share mommy and daddy's attention, but that is probably my biggest concern now moving forward. So any advice out there would be greatly appreciated! :)

Car seat is clean and ready to go, Evelyn's baby Cinderella had to try it out!

Evelyn rocking the car seat... it works well for Baby brother!

She is such a ham, difficult for me to get a good picture of her moving so much...
Crib is all made up, I am getting the noise machine toy attached and Evelyn is trying out the crib, mommy and daddy thought this was funny, but our sensitive drama queen did not like being the 'baby'! :)

Sad, cause she is not a baby! :) poor girl! :)
